little gouache study
Im really enjoying how gouache is pretty much oil paint that drys really fast. This quality makes it perfect for little studies like this. |

Tymias
This was a piece that I completed last year. I was experimenting with the way flesh is constructed and layered. Playing with the idea of the translucent nature of it and tried to mimic that through my paint application. With muted skin tones built on top of thick paint applied with a pallet knife of intense blues, oranges, purples, and greens. The build up of paint in this way allowed for the intense colors to show through with a subtle glow. This is a very long process, this one took me about 40 hours and haven't been able to try it since because of time constraints. Been looking for a quicker way to achieve the same effect.
